Cache Options Fourth Rare-Earth Element Property PDF Print E-mail

VANCOUVER, BC (April 15, 2010) – Cache Exploration Inc (TSX-V: CAY) is pleased to announce that it has optioned the Welsford Inner Claims REE property in southern New Brunswick. This transaction is subject to regulatory approval.

These six claims are located within the outer boundaries of our Welsford REE Property (news releases March 5 and March 8, 2010). The Company may earn a 100% interest in these Inner claims in exchange for $86,000 in cash option payments and the issue of 250,000 shares of Cache over a three year period due as follows:

  • $6,000 due on signing
  • 50,000 common shares due within 7 days of Exchange acceptance
  • $10,000 and 50,000 shares on first anniversary
  • $20,000 and 50,000 shares on second anniversary
  • $50,000 and 100,000 shares on third anniversary subject to title transfer

The vendor retains a 2% Royalty on Net Smelter Return (“NSR”) which may be reduced to 1% by paying the vendor $1,000,000.
The Welsford REE Property Option is on 124 claims that cover most of the Welsford Peralkaline Intrusion. The addition of these 6 claims grants Cache control over the entire Intrusive Complex.

The Welsford Intrusive Complex is 20km north of Saint John, N.B.  Historic geological mapping and sampling by Uranerz Exploration Ltd. for uranium in 1980, which was followed by trenching and drilling in the late 1990’s, has revealed significant Zr-Nb-Y-REE mineralization hosted within peralkalic pegmatite-aplite dyke swarms that intrude the Welsford alkaline granite. Petrogeochemical studies (Seidler et al., 2005) have verified up to 18,500 ppm Zr, 1,710 ppm Nb, 1,713 ppm Y, 153 ppm U, 446 ppm Th, 1,268 ppm Ce, and 198 ppm Yb as the average from random grab samples taken from the McKeel Lake dykes, which will be a priority target on these claims. Grab samples can be selective in nature and may not reflect the average grade on the property. These represent concentrations comparable to those found in the richest heavy REE deposits in the world.  In the fall of 2009, Dr. David Lentz, Economic Geology Chair at the University of New Brunswick, coordinated and oversaw the surficial B horizon soil sampling and analytical program over the Welsford properties; the instrumental neutron activation analytical results of this program revealed many highly anomalous soil samples with high Lanthanum (La), Cerium (Ce) and Neodymium (Nd), followed by Samarium (Sm), Europium (Eu), Terbium (Tb), Ytterbium (Yb) and Tantalum (Ta).

Cache’s geological team, directed by Dr. David Lentz, will be completing a second phase exploration program during 2010 that will include further ground stream sediment and soil sampling, prospecting and geological mapping,  followed by trenching and drill testing to confirm historical results and search for undiscovered new zones of REE mineralization. The Company intends to split and re-assay historical drill core by specialized methods for determining REE results.

Additional Information
Cache Exploration is a well funded company with a focus on exploring for REE deposits.  In addition to the two Welsford REE Properties in New Brunswick, the Company has the Louill Hills REE Property and the Cross Hills REE Property in Newfoundland, with the Cross Hills property being adjacent to the Rockbridge Resources Inc. REE Property. All four Cache REE properties have proximity to available infrastructure and are considered to have excellent potential for rare earth mineralization.

Prof. David Lentz, P.Geo. is a Qualified Person as described in National Instrument 43-101 and is responsible for the technical information contained in this news release.
