Cache Completes Louil Hills Exploration Program PDF Print E-mail

TORONTO, CANADA – August 24, 2011 – Mr. George A. Brown, President and CEO of Cache Exploration Inc. (TSX-V:CAY), is pleased to report on the recently completed Louil Hills 2011 summer work program. Dr. David Lentz, P.Geo., is a Qualified Person as described in National Instrument 43-101 and is responsible for the technical information contained in this news release.

An exploration work program has been completed on the 37 claim Louil Hill Property  and on the 57 claim Louil Hill Extension Property which are located near the eastern coast of Newfoundland on Clode Sound north of the town of Musgravetown with the seaport town of Clarenville located  approximately 30 km to the south. These properties are host to several Copper mineral occurrences and Zirconium and Niobium mineral occurrences that are present along the south shoreline of Clode Sound.

The 2011 field work program (news release May 3, 2011) was completed at the end of May by a two person Cache exploration team with a focus on evaluating and sampling known mineral occurrences, as well as sampling new areas found to have elevated radioactivity as measured by RS-125 spectrometers and field observed base-metal mineralization. During this work program, a total of 21 samples were taken on the Louil Hill Property and 27 samples were taken from the Louil Hill Extension Property. Samples were submitted to Activation Laboratories Inc. where they were analyzed by instrumental neutron activation analysis (INAA) and inductively coupled plasma (ICP) spectrometry at Activation Laboratories Inc.

Anomalous Rare Earth Element (“REE”) occurrences were identified in several of the samples taken from throughout the Louil Hill Properties. Three samples taken from the rhyolitic and rhyodacitic rocks that can be found distributed throughout the Louil Hill Property revealed 380 and 443 ppm Total Rare Earth Element (“TREE”) (La, Ce, Nd, Sm, Tb, Yb, and Lu). Two samples taken from devitrified peralkalic rhyolitic volcanic tuff cliffs located along the shoreline of the Louil Hill Extension Property yielded 727 ppm and 935 ppm TREE respectively and up to  213 ppm Yttrium. The geology of this area is similar to other mineral occurrences that have been reported to contain up to 4,060 ppm Zirconium, 936 ppm Niobium, and 287 ppm Yttrium from a location 200 metres to the west of the Louil Hills Property and up to 3,070 ppm Zirconium, 368 ppm Niobium, and 312 ppm Yttrium from a location 100 metres to the west of the Louil Hills Property. Zirconium, Niobium, and Yttrium mineralization is commonly associated with REE mineralization.

The 2011 field work program included a follow up on the 2010 channel sample that revealed 0.92% Copper across a length of one metre on the Louil Hills Property. This location was channel sampled on each side of the 2010 channel sample to determine the continuity of the Copper mineralization with reported results yielding 0.61% and 0.55% Copper respectively across both one metre channel cuts for a composite average of 0.69% Copper over three metres. The rock unit is basaltic with locally abundant malachite staining. The outcrop, approximately 20 metres by 10 metres, was sampled in several other locations and it was determined that the Copper mineralization is controlled by malachite-bearing fractures associated with the basalt and not by the cross-cutting network of quartz veins. A quartz vein fracture set hosted in basalt reported 0.19% Copper. Fourteen other base metal mineral occurrences, mostly copper, were visited. The geochemical results from the eight occurrences sampled were not as significant as those reported above.

Mr. Brown, CEO, states: “This work program completes our work for 2011 at the Louil Hills Properties. We will now advance to the process of prioritizing our results from the 2011 work programs conducted at all of our numerous properties. Our 2011 exploration budget of $1,100,000 is fully funded and includes an allocation for follow up trenching and or drilling at our priority targets to be selected this fall.”

Cache Exploration is a well-funded exploration company with a focus on exploring for REE deposits.  Cache is exploring the Welsford REE Properties in New Brunswick, the Cross Hills REE Property and Cross Hills Northern IOCG Property in Newfoundland, the Louil Hills REE Properties in Newfoundland, and the Nunavut REE Properties.  The Company recently acquired a 100% interest in Cache Minerals Inc. (“CMI”) (formerly Rockbridge Minerals Inc.) through which it now controls the CMI Cross Hill REE Properties adjacent to Cache’s Cross Hills Properties, the 3,360 acre Stewart South Property in BC, the 4,349 acre Quinn Eskay Property in BC, the 719 acre GSM Property in BC, and the 4,680 acre White Gold Properties in the Yukon.  All of the Cache REE properties are considered to have excellent potential for rare earth element mineralization.  The BC and Yukon properties provide a diversity of exposure to exploration potential for copper, silver, and gold.
